Heineken in all of its glory
Yes the pants had the full Heineken Experience. Originating in Holland, the Heineken brand is what you could call the “official Miami Ad School” brand of beer. This highly coveted prize is bestowed upon those given the honor for outstanding achievement on the football field (soccer to Americans) at weekly Monday guest speaker meetings by Ron Seichresiieist, the Global Director of Miami Ad School.
The Heineken Experience is a tour through the world of Heineken, displaying awards, previous bottle designs, and equipment and ingredients actually used in production of the beer. There was even a interactive “4D” experience where you “experience” what the beer experiences–which is a fancy way of saying “we installed hydraulics in the floor to make it move during the movie.” There were also these pods where you could travel through the years of Heineken advertising. Mine was broken. But what a good ploy–paying for one big ad that is sprinkled with the ads they actually produced. After taking my “Hi from the Heineken Experience” postcard and, of course, tasting the brew, we left, only to experience more heineken later that night.
Cheers! or Prost! (as the Dutch say)
First burger in Amsterdam
I really had a hankering for a burger one day while in Amsterdam where my diet has consisted mostly of pasta, stroopwafel, cheese, and the occasional unsatisfying salad. So my roommate, Scott, Paola and I head over to BurgerMeester which turns out was only a block or two away from my place. I ordered a really good-looking burger with goat cheese, cashews and apple fig chutney. It was really really good aside from the fact there was no hamburger in it. I guess you should pay attention to the little symbols that say “vegetarian” on the side.
After that enjoyable fiasco and vowing to come back and actually have beef, we headed over to the zoo to check it out. We found a bunch of cool statues near the entrance. I pants seemed to appreciate the one of the lady the most.
